In my voyages upon the DeviantART sea of the vast ocean of the Web, I found myself Shanghaied by the fearsome Captain to partake in the character meme (again), and she asked me to present to you bilge rats eight facts about my Bosmer from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Artanis Felagund, who doesn't approve of my sailor like introduction.
1) Post these rules.
2) Post 8 facts about your character.
3) Tag 8 other characters. (Yeah, no)
4) Post their names along with their creators' avatars.
This is her. Do you see how mad *cough*embarrassed*cough* she is with me?
Factoids-
1 - When Artanis was little, she loved apples, and the green ones were her favorite. During the Great War, they were hard to come by in Cheydinhal, so Artanis had to go without them for several years until the supply lines were opened again. When she finally got one, it turned out to be from a bad bunch, infested with worms. Eating one of them quickly turned her off of the fruit.
2 - Artanis has quite a reputation in the area of sword combat, despite her people's natural inclination for archery. She's worked as a mercenary both with and independent of the Cyrodilic Fighters Guild and as a member of the Companions of Skyrim. She also attempted to join the Legion when she was younger, but the recruiter didn't take the little ginger seriously.
3 - Not many things faze Artanis, but she finds will-o'-the-wisps unnerving. She festers an intense aversion to them after nearly being killed by a wisp mother in a mine. She also gets uneasy around fire, even when it's contained in a hearth, though over the years she's gotten better.
4 - Artanis has a bad tendency to get drunk. In fact, many people are surprised she can fight at all with the amount of alcohol she consumes beforehand. The root of the problem can be traced back to when she was introduced Redguard liquor when she was younger.
5 - As a girl with a not too girly countenance and a very crass manner, many people are surprised to learn of Artanis' affection for perfumes, candles, and bath soaps. She's very fond of honey, rose, and flowery scents, her favorite being lavender.
6 - Despite being rather tough skinned and grouchy faced in her adult life, Artanis was a very cute child who had a knack for endearing people to her. Even in later years, she still manages to attract people to her, which comes in handy when she needs to cash in a favor.
7 - The surname, Felagund, was not the actual last name of Gwedhanar and Ruinil, Artanis' parents. When they first moved to Anvil, some Imperial office had them register with a last name. Gwedhanar had no ideas, but Ruinil picked Felagund, which was a name she'd seen on a sign back in Wayrest. Their daughter then inherited the name, not knowing that her name came from "Felagund's Forge and Smithy." It means "Hewer of Stone."
8 - Artanis knows very little about her family. She has two older siblings, one who was stillborn and another who died shortly after birth and a younger brother named Sercion, who she believes to be dead. She's also sure of her parents deaths. Beyond them, Artanis has an extensive family in Valenwood and a set of grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins in Wayrest. All of which she knows nothing of.

What Do Fanworks Mean To Me?
It's International Fanworks Day and by stars, I'm not missing it again.
#whatfanworksmeantome
"What do fanworks mean to me?" I ask myself while posting the third chapter to my Hobbit/Elder Scrolls fanfic on FFN and ao3. "That's a loaded question," I tell myself.
Fanworks mean everything to me. They're what taught me to write and to draw, to be artistic, to know that imagination has a place even in the day to day lives of adults, and for a girl who was once shy child and later a lonely teen, that means everything to me.
I loved stories as a small child. Being read to was one of my absolute favorite things. The Chronicles of Narnia were rea
Memory: The Phantoms in My Mind
Bonsoir,
After nearly four years, my dramatics should be familiar to many of you...as well as my setbacks, epic fails, issues with abandoning things, and quitting and leaving and just being a generally horrible time keeper, and such.
Recap time.
Who remembers The Altmer, the Septim, and the Doctor and my ideas for an epic The Elder Scrolls x Anything short story crossover series? I wrote that before I'd ever played Skyrim, so it was definitely in 2013, Autumn, I believe. Averin Peredhil and Martin Septim are about to create the portal to paradise when a strange man in a bowtie magically appears and history is changed forever. In the end, t
Bonsoir, Mes Amis!
I found a meme/tag! I haven't done one in ages, so, I'll do this one. Let's find out where Winter's mind goes during the summer...
1.) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, and find line 4.
"As they rode on, Rowan didn't ask why she was here and what she'd..." [..."been doing for the last ten years while the world had gone to hell."] - Sarah J. Maas, Heir of Fire
2.) Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What can you reach?
A black ink Paper  Mate gel pen.
3.) What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Erm, Stargate: SG-1!
4.) Without looking guess what time it is?
8:10?
5.) Now look at the clock. What is the ac
Winter Forecast: Sleepy With A Chance Of Politics
Hey everyone, I thought I'd check in to let you know how I've been, as I've been rather inactive of late (i.e. the last since forever).
First, I'm doing fine, and when I say that, I mean I'm actually really tired and I feel like I'm being torn in several different directions (write your book, do your coursework, practice such and such instrument, read this book, reorganize everything, practice drawing, etc. ...). I'm not depressed or anything, I just haven't an idea at all which direction has the strongest magnetic pull. Thankfully, I finished organizing a Christmas program I was asked to write, but there's still a million other things on my
